Siddiq Shafi Group, along with its group companies, is committed to the realization of its corporate social responsibility through community philanthropy. Within the organization, Siddiq Shafi Group aims to foster a culture of care, trust and continuous learning while meeting the expectations of its employees and improving the quality of life of our workforce. For the community at large, Siddiq Shafi Group contributes towards an educated, healthy and safe Pakistan. Siddiq Shafi Group generously contributes to improving the standard of literacy, basic health facilities and a cleaner environment.
Siddiq Shafi Group very actively participates in the education of the less privileged in our society. The Group has taken this task upon it as a personal mission and has set up Colleges and Schools to provide education free or at an affordable cost to the underprivileged.
Contributions
Our Contributions
The Group companies also provide financial and material assistance to a large number of government schools working in the catchment areas as the majority of workers employed in these companies belong to neighboring villages and communities.
The Group has established in the home town of its directors, a campus for Degree awarding College in Chiniot (Punjab). This is a purpose-built campus established for the education of poor community.- Facilitation to their job work contractors is also part of their CSR activities. The Group companies fulfil their CSA responsibilities on a philanthropic basis- For different strata of society. The companies are also involved in the promotion of education (formal and informal) for the low-income group.
To help improve the working conditions of women in the country, Siddiq Shafi Group is operating stitching training centers where women learn the arts to earn for their families.
We believe in providing equal opportunities for both gender resources. Creating an engaging and fruitful atmosphere for them to learn and grow helps to take a company ahead on its success.

Our Current Initiatives
GCT is providing education and means of better life through its network of more than 150 GCT Hilal Schools throughout the province of Sindh. A long-term investment in education and overall well being of the communities would undoubtedly be a desirable and much needed investment. Today, the GCT network provides a wide-ranging combination of pre-school, primary and secondary education schools and programs in very diverse geographic locations of Sindh. It employs approximately 1300 teachers and educates over 29,000 children.
GCT also perform the following philanthropic activities such as:
- Orphan Support Program,
- Center for Educational Research & Development,
- The Water Project – a sustainable water projects in the Tharparkar district.
The Chairman of Siddiq Shafi Group is also the Vice Chairman of Green Crescent Trust.

Aisha Memorial Public High School – Chiniot
Operates under the Siddiq Shafi Trust. Established in 1987, it embodies the vision and mission of the Board of Trustees to spread quality education to the underprivileged. It is chaired by the members of the Siddiq Shafi Group themselves.

Life in the Thar desert depends on access to clean water, not just for the hardworking Tharis, but also for the cattle they raise for their livelihood. Young girls and their mothers often have to travel as many as 3 kilometers every day in scorching heat just to fetch one pot of drinking water for their families. Access to water and improved sanitation can change lives. Clean water means health, income and education for the entire village. With The Water Project by GCT, each village we engage gets their own well, providing a safe and reliable source of clean drinking water right outside their homes. GCT has initiated 900+ Water Projects with over 300,000+ Beneficiaries and it aims to install Water Projects at all 2,300 villages of Tharparkar.

Green Crescent Trust believes not only in the power of education but also on a healthy lifestyle for the well-being of its children. For this purpose GCT is actively playing its role in fulfilling the daily needs of around 1,700 orphan children through Orphan Support Program. With this program and the help of its invaluable partners, various educational and extracurricular activities are arranged for these students occasionally. The orphan children enrolled in Orphan Support Program, get education through the network of GCT’s Hilal School. These children are enrolled in a school location which is nearby for them.

Teacher education and development is a critical factor in improving teaching and learning process and students learning outcomes. Flaws in their skills, attitudes and behaviors can spoil the entire life of children. Intellectually stimulated, inspiring and informed teachers are the assets of any school in particular and community in general. GCT put great importance to teachers’ education and professional development which is critical for the quality education of children. CERD plays an important role in training and development of GCT schools’ teachers as well as outsource teachers training for other NGOs, nonprofit organizations and charities. CERD has trained more than 1400 teachers in 25 years Journey. CERDs ultimate role is to build the capacity of teachers keeping in view the contemporary teaching and learning practices blended with Divine guidance. Envisioned; teachers and teacher educators as critical thinkers, reflective practitioners, researchers and life-long learners. CERD enhances teachers’ professional status and self-esteem through creating a sense of professionalism, building their professional knowledge base, professional networking competence and a repertoire of skills.
